JEDDAH: Per capita food availability in Saudi Arabia surpasses global level, Agriculture Minister Dr. Fahd Balghunaim announced yesterday. He said the per capita calories received by Saudi individuals rose by 9.4 percent to 3176.4 during 2008-2010 against 2,904 during 1996-1998.
He also indicated that daily protein intake per capita in the Kingdom increased by 6.3 percent from 77.5 grams to 82.4 grams, while the average fat per capita intake increased 22.5 percent, from 75 to 91.9 grams.
