Child’s missing relatives sought

JEDDAH: The Al-Birr Charity Society in Jeddah has made an appeal to the public to help identify a four-year old child currently housed at the Unclaimed Children’s Shelter, according to a statement issued by the society on Thursday.
“The brown-complexioned child is wearing pants and shirt of antimony color. He does not know his or his parents’ names. Security workers at the Hyper Panda in the Marwah district handed the child to police patrol when no one came to claim him,” Waleed Bahamdan, secretary-general of the society in Jeddah, said in the statement.
The society, which is currently trying to locate the relatives of the child with the help of the media, requested those who happen to obtain any information about the child’s relatives to contact the nearest police station.
The child was handed to the society through the branch of the Ministry of Socail Affairs in Makkah province accompanied by the letter of the chief of Nuzhah Police, Hamid Al-Johani. All police stations have also been notified about the child, he said.
