The Saudi customs have uncovered quantities of internationally-banned chemicals loaded in 11 containers at Jeddah Islamic Seaport en route to Syria from China, the Dammam-based Al-Sharq reported yesterday quoting unidentified port sources.
It said the consignment was made by one of the international shipping companies operating in the Kingdom.
The sources denied any involvement of Saudi businessmen in this international forbidden trade and said none of the Saudi citizens had any hand in the export of the chemicals, which were considered part of weapons industry.
