The Ministry of Health (MoH) and Sanofi, a global health care leader, have signed a cooperation agreement. The objective of this agreement is to support health care professionals with continuous training for diabetes education in primary care sector, medical research in the area of diabetes and good clinical practice (GCP) training program.
Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Saeed, deputy minister for public health in the MoH, said: “Having this sustainable and holistic approach to educate health care professionals is the key toward improving patients’ quality of life; by signing this executive agreement, primary health care physicians will have tailored training programs over a long period on different aspects of how to best manage diabetes and provide highest possible health care services to the patients.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Salah Mousa, GM of Sanofi Saudi Arabia, said “Sanofi is committed to improve access to health care for the patients in Saudi Arabia; having this strategic public-private partnership (PPP) is a comprehensive approach to combat diabetes as it is a life threatening condition if not controlled or managed. Treatment alone is not the answer to fight diabetes, which is the reason why Sanofi is partnering up with the MoH and other authorities focusing on continuous medical education for primary care physicians, medical research particularly in type 2 diabetes and GCP training program for health care professionals.”
