Galvanized steel: UNICOIL sets standards

It is well-known that zinc coating of steel is critical for corrosion resistance. For improvement of corrosion resistance properties, the vast majority of industries around the world continue to use the most widely known method of passivation treatment with chemicals containing hexavalent chrome.
This type of treatment prevents the formation of storage stains and white rust during transit and storage. It also provides a cost-effective high level of corrosion resistance.
In an unprecedented step in the GCC and the Middle East region, UNICOIL was successful in line trials of galvanized steel production using passivation treatment with trivalent chrome. This process provides extra eco-friendly and safer products for human with similar white rust and corrosion resistance properties at a cost slightly higher than the cost of treatment with hexavalent chrome.
This qualitative development of UNICOIL’s products comes as part of the company’s efforts and compliance with highest international standards and practices, as well as its ongoing commitment to the use of lead-safe zinc.
UNICOIL has also announced that it is now ready for the commercial production and launch of trivalent chrome treated galvanized steel products.
