A high game each in their two-game finals gave Roger Daquioag, Richard Antonio and Sally Sañosa the most coveted Master titles in their divisions during the recent Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group 2012 Haj Mini All Events games at the Bowling City here.
Daquioag with 1,826 pinfalls was second to Dariel Loquias 1,874 but in front of Ruel Santoc (1,817) after the nine-game qualifying.
He even sluggishly started with 157 during the Masters two-game finals well behind Santoc 203 and Loquias 188.
But with exceptional professional calm attitude and soft-rolling style, Daquioag seared the lanes with strings of strikes to take the OAB group Masters title with total scratch series of 391 after a 234 in the second game. Santoc was second on 386 and Loquias third on 369.
Antonio, one of the most celebrated bowlers in his level, was third on 1,863 behind top finisher Rolly Vistal 1,885 and Jun Pingan 1,876 after the 9-game eliminations contested by 23 keglers including another two top favorites Edris Mangoda and Med Ramos who bowed out of the race on 1,835 and 1,828.
A sparkling opener of 228 had Antonio in the lead with Vistal and Pingan on 192 and 167. Vistal tried chasing with 205 on the last bend but Antonio defended his position well with 174 to become the CD Masters titlist with handicap series of 402. Vistal settled for second on 397 while Pingan was third on 348.
Sañosa with 1,656 finished third behind top qualifier Fernandez (1,749) and Miralbuna (1,707). She survived fast-chasing top favorite May Lourdes (1,645) and remarkable campaigner Eva Garcia (1,605) in their 9-game race. But it was advantage Sañosa after a sparkling 193 in the first game of the ladies Masters contest as Fernandez and Miralbuna could only show 183 and 172. Fernandez battled hard with 202 but Sañosa responded with a 183 for a winning series of 381. Fernandez (374) and Miralbuna (366) took the second and third places.
