The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) opened with positive note yesterday; spending most of the session above the break-even line at 6,744.53, up 16.7 points or 0.25 percent from previous level.
Most of the major sectors closed in the green territory; Media and Multi-Investment Sectors remained at top showing an increment of 1.6 percent and 1.2 percent respectively.
On the other hand, four sectors ended in red, paring 107.9 points collectively.
Among heavy weights, Kingdom Holding showed a splendid performance for the fifth straight day, rising by 2.95 percent to close at SR12.2.
Only SABB and Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) shares fell 0.89 percent and 0.4 percent respectively.
The market breadth was positive with advance-decline ratio of 1.13:1.
Insurance stocks continued to dominate the market performance, filling the top gainer and loser charts consecutively.
Malath Insurance and Saudi United Insurance were key gainers of the day, up 9.97 percent and 5.24 percent respectively.
Most of the trading was concentrated in the Insurance and Telecom sectors.
Telecom remained prominent with regards to the number of shares traded. It reached 76.97 million shares, reflecting 30.3 percent market share.
While, Insurance sector pumped more liquidity into the market by contributing SR1.3 billion, which is approximately one-fourth of overall market turnover.
