Drake & Scull wins AED189m MEP contract for Al-Dara Hospital

Drake & Scull Saudi Arabia has won an AED189 million MEP contract for Al-Dara Hospital and Medical Center in Riyadh. The contract will start immediately and be completed by January 2016.
This was announced by Drake & Scull International (DSI), a regional market leader in the integrated design, engineering and construction disciplines of general contracting, engineering (mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), water and power, rail, oil and gas, and water and wastewater treatment, announced that its subsidiary.
Under the terms of the agreement, DSI will undertake complete installation, testing and commissioning of critical MEP systems like HVAC, plumbing and firefighting system, water treatment plant, medical gases system, fuel system, building management system and electrical systems for the hospital.
The 107-bed Al-Dara Hospital and Medical Center, located close to the prestigious King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, will be the city’s largest and technically advanced outpatient center spread over an area of 27,500 square meters. It comprises a low-rise building built on a gross floor area of 101,000 square meters, comprising an eastern wing of GF+6 floors, a western wing of G+4 floors, and a two-story basement. Carillion Saudi Arabia is the main contractor of this outpatient facility.

In addition, we have previously worked on landmark developments like the Information Technology Communications Complex and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. DSI has been highly active in the health care sector with an aim to improve and upgrade the quality of the health care services in the markets where we operate”
He added: “The Al Dara Hospital continues our historical involvement with key health care projects in the region, which include the King Khaled Hospital Expansion, the upcoming King Fahad Medical City, Dammam University Hospital in KSA, the Rashid Hospital, Maliha Hospital and Danat Al-Emarat in the UAE as well as the King Hussein Medical City in Jordan.”
