The Saudi stock market recorded mild losses yesterday, as the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) closed lower to 6,988.07, shedding 28.54 points or 0.41 percent for the entire day.
After falling over forty points during the session it bottomed out at 6,973.18 points level and started to rise again but ended below the break-even line.
On year-to-date basis, its yield remained below three percent.
The market cap indices all finished to the downside.
Most of the sector indices ended negatively, paring an aggregate of 456 points. Multi-Investment and Tourism sectors showed the worst performance, slipping 1.6 percent and 1.1 percent respectively
Only Agriculture and Media sectors moved upward, showing a collection of 16 points. While, Energy & Utilities sector passed through another session without any change.
Seven out of top ten heavy weights suffered small losses, with SABB decreasing by 1.8 percent, Kingdom holding 1.5 percent and Saudi Telecom 0.75 percent.
Most active stocks also showed a negative change, with Northern Region Cement going down by 2.71 percent, Emaar the Economic City 2.07 percent and Dar Alarkan Real Estate 1.8 percent.
The market breadth was largely negative, with 24 stocks witnessing advances and 115 others marking a decline.
Insurance companies were the significant winners among all Saudi stocks, with Al-Sagr Co-operative Insurance and Saudi Indian Company for Co-operative Insurance, surging by 9.2 percent and 7.8 percent respectively.
On the worst side, Aldrees Petroleum & Transport Services came out as the biggest loser of the day, declining by 6.9 percent.
