Emirates has appointed Zaher Mohamed Binsad as its new sales manager for Madinah.
Binsad, 38, joined Emirates in July 2004, initially working with Emirates Holidays as its agent based in Jeddah.
In July 2007, he moved to Emirates’ sales team in Saudi Arabia’s Western Province and was promoted to senior sales executive in Jeddah, covering major travel agents and corporate accounts.
In December 2010, Binsad’s career moved to Madinah where he worked to build up business around the launch of flights to the city, which started the same year.
The airline opened a dedicated office in Madinah in May 2012 and what started as a twice-weekly flight has become, within one year, a daily service to Dubai.
Emirates serves Dubai with 52 flights a week through four gateways — Madinah, Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah — that are served by the airline’s flagship aircraft A380.
