Eraserheads crowned champ at Almarai Saturday League 11th Conference

RIYADH: Champion Eraserheads led the awardees honored at the awarding ceremony that brought down the curtain on the Almarai-FBGR Saturday Bowling League 11th Conference.
The 12th Conference launch segued the awards night at the Universal Bowling Center in which Almarai Events Manager Majed Al Doyhi together with the officers of Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR) awarded trophies and medals to all the winners of 11th Conference.
Eraserheads, mentored by Armin Isles, won their fifth straight championship. Ronald Bautista, Andro Tismo, Edwin Atienza, Bobby Jamora, Benito Santos, Freddie Santiago, Jojo Gabriel, Jun Macarandan and Ernee Noto are the members of the winning team.
Ala Eh!, Ano Ga? Team of Efren Abuyo claimed the first runner-up position, while Itqan Aces of Joe Garrido finished second runner-up.
In the team awards, Eraserheads swept the four accolades namely team high series with handicap, team high series scratch, team high game with handicap and team high game scratch. Jove Marano won two individual awards for high series with handicap and high series scratch, while Alex Armada claimed the high game with handicap and Ric Uruttia Jr. high game scratch.
The Most Valuable Player award went to Edwin Atienza and Most Improved Player to Emerson Mitra. The Battle of the Elite champion was Arnold Jesena with Doy Del Moral 1st runner-up and Abdullah Amoudi second runner-up. Jun Daniel was the Battle of Noble C & D champion, with Bandar Al-Marshad and Hani Al-Nasleh second and third placers.
The 260 achievers were: (Men’s) — Rashid Rashedan, Bembol Velasco, Jove Marano, Arnold Quindara, Arnold Jesena, Benito Santos, Edwin Atienza, Alfred Valencia, Joe Garrido, Ernee Noto, Edgar Buenaventura, Dennis Gabriel, Ronald Bautista, Yasser Mohamad, Andro Tismo, James Boyd, Butch Mateo, Joel Batolina, Jess Ambon; (Ladies) — Cheng Lambo, Cely Mendoza.
Meantime, Newly formed Kapit-Bisig mentored by Clem Ojeda clinched Best Team of the Week award and Atoi Ramos of Nadec Strokers the Best Bowler of the Week accolade on the 1st week of the Almarai-FBGR Saturday Bowling League 12th Conference.
Kapit-Bisig starring Shawn Rickets with an impressive four-game series of 932 points, crushed SABB Tenpin Wizards 25-11. Jojie Manalansang 204, James Boyd 892, Omar Valdez 827 and Billy Baladiong 597 were the other scorers at Kapit-Bisig. For SABB Tenpin Wizards at the helm was Resty De Jesus 861 and Marvin Arocena 849. Ian Choco added 604, Victor Edan 567 and Francis Guron 553.
Ramos rolled the high series of 956 to pilot Nadec Strokers past Al-Fanar Precast 22-1. Ramos carded games of 229, 230, 249 and 248. Next to Ramos was Danny Nabong 840, Jove Marano 730, Jojo Paciano 412, Ruben Babasa 396, Reynald Medina 384 and team captain Lope Ramirez 362. Marvin Mercado fired 719 to lead Al-Fanar Precast Co. followed by Eddie Mansano 698, Rene Orel 666, Noel Valderama 623 and Allan Estipular 612.
Defending champion Eraserheads recorded a 16-12 victory against the Carry Over. Leading the Eraserheads was Atienza 883 followed by Macarandan 875, Noto 767, Fernie Ballano 741 and Joe Garrido 570.
Proshop captained by Johnny Penecilla demolished Alinma Bank of Abdulrahman Ahmed 20-11. Mel Ancheta led the Proshop with 909 points with Ruel Toledo on 877, Rico Feria 863, Manny Lebrilla 825 and Vic Barrazona 733 points. Team captain Abdulrahman Ahmed showed the way at Alinma on 888 that went with Fareed Aquino’s 792, Jess Ambon’s 733 and Bernie Torres’ 585.
In other matches, Hot Chocolate of Hani Nasleh defeated Bandar Al-Marshad’s Alsalam Knights 19-8, while Pin — XXX of Benny Mondoy dumped Almarai Co. of Emerson Mitra 16-10. Bye team RG512 totaled 23 points.
