I am a keen reader of your Friday editorials. The editorial “A force to be reckoned with” is absolutely spot on! As it was rightly mentioned that the appointment of Prince Muhammad bin Naif as Interior Minister is welcomed by all. It is not only the sentiment of the Saudi citizens but the entire expatriate community too.
There is no parallel to the peace and security enjoyed by all residents of this country anywhere in the world and therefore it is everyone’s wish that it should be maintained at any cost. The expatriate community joins the citizens of this country to wish every success to the new minister.
In reference to your editorial, “Israeli affront to Obama”, I would like to add that Netanyahu would have liked a Romney victory over Obama since Romney made much stronger statements in support of Israel and in addition a visit to the Zionist state before the election to show that how close he is to it.
However, the current result shows that the Israeli lobby in the US is slowly losing its influence. Although we are pleased with Obama’s convincing victory, we doubt very much that he will do anything meaningful to solve the decades-old Palestinian-Israeli conflict. — S.H. Moulana, Riyadh
