The Ministry of Industry and Commerce in cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO) organized a national seminar to introduce the new government procurement agreement that was adopted by the members of the Convention in late March 2012. The event was held under the auspices of Minister of Industry and Commerce Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce for Foreign Trade Mohammed Al-Kathri said the seminar would be held from May 29-30, with the participation of officials of procurement in many government agencies and some representatives of the private sector in coordination with the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The aim of the seminar is to talk with experts from the WTO as well as specialists and officials of some agencies and government institutions.
The new agreement will be covering areas, supply, services, contracting and construction services, and future work programs and relevant developments, including the Program of Action for SMEs in government procurement.
