A woman was detained on Friday for attending a football match at a stadium, which is in violation of the law that bans females in stadiums.
Police arrested the woman for attending a match between Al-Ettihad and Al-Shabab at the Al-Jawhara Stadium in Jeddah.
She was wearing male clothing and had covered her head to avoid being caught. A security officer noticed the woman during the match and arrested her.
The woman had bought the ticket through a football website.
While photos of the woman watching the match have gone viral on social media, authorities are firm about prohibiting women from attending live football matches in stadiums.
