Fed & AAA made the end of the first round eliminations a week to remember, scoring perfect 30 points on the way to the Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double during the ninth session in the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) Friday Afternoon League First Season at at IN-10-SO lanes in Serafi Megamall here.
Khalid Bustinera rolled the high series of 673 on lines of 180, 215 and 203 to claim the men’s individual award while powering Fed & AAA to a 20-0 shutout of Lance & 3rdy on total pinfalls of 2,2,97-2,092 and rank points of 10 and 5.
It was the second team award for Fed & AAA and incidentally it also had a perfect 30 when it won its first accolade in this tournament organized by OFBC in cooperation with IN-10-SO bowling manager Hani “King” Al Touhki.
Also, it was the third Bowler of the Week plum for team captain Khalid who was supported by Ed Cordova with 543. Rudy Valenzuela contributed two games of 170-171 as Jimmy Mandingiado 144-164 and Fedelyn Bustinera 150-146.
Evelyn Santoc gave Lance & 3rdy some consolation when she won the ladies Bowler of the Week award on 553.
RJ Transient Houses whipped The Youngsters 18-2 to finish the day on 27 points after its total pinfalls of 2,235 gave the squad the No. 2 rank points of 9. Youngsters with 4 rank points on total pinfalls of 2,081 could only muster 6.
Team captain Rudy RJ Jamon led Transient with 649 on lines of 205, 221 and 148. League commissioner Joel Nidoy and Ric Tibayan, on 543 and 529, were the other playes to roll full games while Jack Jarin had 167-149 and Malou Nidoy 143.
PCG-Jeddah added to the misery of The Transferee when it won their match by shutout 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,139 and 1,865. Counting its rank points of 6 PCG-Jeddah was the third-best scorer on 26 points thanks mainly to skipper Caloy Nuguit and Joel Alegre who drilled 551 and 523 respectively. Abdulfattah Mogawan shot 141-147, Errol Reyes had 161-158 and Dennis Leprozo made 141-147.
Makatifoods of Vovstone won by default over Yanbu 4ever 20-0 and its total pinfalls of 2,019 gave the team 3 rank points for a total of 23.
In the other match, Current Bowlers brought down league leader Cool Guys 12-8 on total pinfalls of 2,211-2,166 and rank points of 8 and 7. Cesar Pagtalunan paced Current Bowlers on 581 followed by Tom Langa 550 and Bash Langa 546. Current totaled 20 to Cool Guys’ 15.
Meantime, the league takes a breather for the holiday season and will resume on Jan. 18, 2013 although it will have a get-together singles event Dec. 7 and 14 at 2 p.m.
