A first of its kind Saudi film titled “Journey of Hope” that addresses cancer patients will be released in the coming week.
The film, produced by the Saudi Cancer Society (SCS) in Madinah, aims to ease the suffering and pain of the patients and to spread joy and hope in their hearts by pursuing various medical treatments. The project seeks to lift the patients’ morale and to spread positive energy so that they are able to effectively fight the disease.
“Journey of Hope” revolves around a young man in his twenties, who discovers he has cancer, and takes us through his journey of life. At the end of the film, guests participants make appearances giving out messages of hope, highlighting the importance of sticking to treatment sessions and advising the patients to not despair.
Social Affairs Minister Yousuf Al-Othaimeen pointed out the remarkable success that the SCS has achieved in fighting cancer and limiting the spread of the disease in the Kingdom.
Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah said Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is prioritizing the task of providing more clinics and hospitals for cancer patients.
The film includes parts of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith to promote patience in the hearts of cancer patients and to encourage them to fight back against the disease.
The film will be screened at cancer treatment centers across the Kingdom and the Middle East.
