The business lunch on offer at Noodles is perfect for those who have a one-hour break and wanted to spend it at a luxury restaurant and eat premium Chinese. You will be in and out in no time as they have prepared a program where they serve you your whole meal in less than an hour.
The restaurant is located on the first floor at the Rosewood Corniche overlooking the Red Sea and I highly recommend you choose your table next to the window so you can enjoy the great view of the Corniche.
The restaurant interior is an artistic blend between modern and traditional Chinese with printed carpets and red walls from one side and full window walls from the other. There are basic wooden chairs and tables and around four private booths that overlook the hotel from a glass window. On the walls you will find Chinese ornaments in the form of pots and fans.
The business lunch set menus combine authentic mainland dishes with exciting fusion plates for a minimum of two diners. The Chef promises his diners a 45-minute meal.
On Saturday, they are serving a five-dish course starting with the chicken and sweetcorn soup made with tender, steamed chicken in a light creamy broth. For an appetizer there is the prawn spring rolls, a house favorite. Another appetizer is the chicken cha shoa su made with melt-in-the-mouth steamed buns filled with delectable roasted chicken. There is also the classic beef chow mein for the main dish which is comprised of stir fried noodles with beef and chinese vegetables. Another main dish is the wok-seared hammour fillet with lemon pepper sauce, a personal favorite, which is an authentic fried fish with great zesty sauce.
On Sunday, a four-dish course is offered starting with the shrimp wonton soup, which is a shrimp-filled dumpling served with spring greens in a delicate consommé. The Asian pear salad is a healthy appetizer made with poached Asian pear on a bed of mixed garden salad with homemade soya dressing. For the main dish, the Mongolian beef made with wok seared prime beef with onions and mushrooms is served in a piquant, gentle spicy sauce. Another main is the General Tao chicken, which is a delectable American chinese stir-fry dish with deep fried peanuts drizzled with spicy sauce.
Those are just two menus out of a total of five to choose from. I highly recommend you visit for an authentic experience. When you're done, make sure you ask for their special Chinese teas. My favorite is the peppermint tea. This aids digest and will give you the energy you need to go back to work without the lethargic after-lunch feeling.
For desert, I recommend the chocolate cheesecake in Chinese steamed dough. It is shaped like a ball filled with chocolate cheesecake and vanilla ice cream on the side. With different textures, temperatures and flavors, you will be sure to love it.
Younger guests are likely to be drawn to Noodles, which offers children's chop-stick lessons, hand-made noodle displays from the open kitchen and a games room kitted out with even more Nintendo Wiis and PlayStations for post-dinner entertainment.
Opening times: from Saturday to Wednesday from 1pm to 4pm.
