The three-day forum of comprehensive quality hosted by the general security department wrapped up yesterday in Jeddah.
The final session chaired by Col. Saad Al-Ghamdi, head of security patrols, concluded with 16 recommendations.
Al-Ghamdi emphasized the Kingdom's dedication to apply quality control in all security departments and create a national strategy across the Kingdom.
Ayedh Al-Omari, chair of Saudi Quality Council, announced the forum's recommendation to exchange best practices in policing — locally, regionally and internationally. Community policing received notable attention in the recommendations with suggestions to learn from similar policing bodies in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Singapore.
Among the recommendations was a suggestion to establish an award for security excellence in all departments. The forum recommended quality councils to be established in all security departments to support strategic planning. A quality center was suggested to develop and enhance comprehensive quality over the security departments.
The forum recommended developing internal systems and adopting new human resource programs.
