It was celebration time as international Indian schools in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Jubail and Buraidah once again produced impressive results in the 2012 Class XII examinations conducted by the New Delhi-based Central Board of Secondary Education.
The results, declared yesterday, indicated that girl students had done far better than boys.
In Aiswarya Sasi Kaladharan, the International Indian School-Dammam (IISD) produced a Kingdomwide topper in science stream; she scored 96.8 percent. The school also produced a Kingdomwide topper in commerce stream with Sanya Suhema scoring 96 percent. In humanities, the Kingdomwide top honors went to International Indian School-Jeddah (IISJ) where Rabeeha Abdurehim scored 96.2 percent.
The IISJ did remarkably well with 459 students appearing for the All-India Senior School Certificate Examination. Of them, 458 were declared successful. There was only one compartment and no failures.
In Dammam, 483 students took the exam. Of them, 465 were declared successful. There were 15 compartments and five failures.
At the International Indian School-Riyadh (IISR), 542 students took the exam. Of them, 519 were declared successful. There were 41 compartments and 23 failures.
The International Indian School-Jubail again produced excellent results. Ninety-five of its students sat for the exam. Of them, 94 were successful. There was only one compartment.
At International Indian School-Buraidah, 10 students appeared for the exam. All of them were successful with excellent marks.
At IISD, Aiswarya (96.8 percent) and Sanya (96 percent) were at No. 1 and No. 2, while Amala Philsi Varghese stood at No. 3 having scored 95.4 percent in commerce stream. Sourabh Haridasan and Tiya Elizabeth John shared the second position in science stream with 95 percent. Sana with 95 percent in commerce stream, Sagar Nambiar Janardhan and Nasrin Mohammed Shaffe with 94.4 percent shared the next positions. Nirmala Ann Joseph with 90.8 percent stood first in arts stream in the school.
IISD Principal E.K. Mohammed Shaffe, Chairman Thiru K.M. and other members of the managing committee congratulated the toppers and their parents and all those who performed well in the examinations. They appreciated the sincere and dedicated efforts of the teachers.
On the Kingdom’s west coast, IISJ Principal Syed Masood Ahmed and his team of dedicated teachers were the happiest lot. “This time, we have surpassed all previous records of excellence,” he told Arab News. “We are very happy to state that there were no failures among our 459 students; 39 of our students scored 90 percent and above, and the number of students passing in first division stood at a whopping 432.”
Rabeeha Abdurehim topped in IISJ by scoring 96.2 percent followed by Shaza Salim with 95.6 percent and Afroz Shahana Ashraf with 95.2 percent. All the Top 3 positions in the school went to girls.
Among IISJ boys, Ahmed Ziyad Nadeer Kutty took the first position by scoring 93.6 percent. He was followed by Amit Gopal Hattimare (93.2 percent) and Mohammed Ilias Ali (93 percent).
The school created a new record of distinctions in 12 out of 17 subjects. In total, there were 1,573 distinctions in different subjects.
“The landmark achievement is the outcome of dedication and sincerity of our teachers, the cooperation of the parents and the hard work of our students,” said Principal Masood.
The International Indian School-Jubail (IIS-Jubail) continued its impressive journey and maintained its 100 percent success rate. Of the 94 students who took the exam, 43 were boys and 51 girls. Anadha Nambiar from science stream topped in the school scoring 95.8 percent while Vijesh Sahdevan came second with 94.4 percent. In commerce stream, Tasneem Riyaz Lakdawala topped with 94 percent while Vineeta Singh came second with 85.2 percent.
“These fascinating results reflect the hard work of students, teachers and parents,” said Jubail school Principal Dr. Syed Hameed. “This could never have been possible without the constant support and motivation of the school managing committee.” Chairman Dr. Ahmad Khan congratulated the students for their remarkable achievements and appreciated the good work put in by the teachers.
At IISR, there were 425 students in first class and distinction categories. Dhaval Vilas Waghuldewith 96.2 percent in science stream was the school topper. The No. 2 position went to Manaal Mukhtar Jamadar. She scored 96 percent in science stream. Raziuddin Ahmed took the third position in the school with 95.8 percent, also in science stream.
Newly-appointed IISR Principal Dr. S.M. Shaukat Perwez congratulated all the toppers and successful students and promised to take the school to new heights of excellence.
At International Indian School-Buraidah, all 10 students did exceptionally well. Amena Bibi top-scored with 86.6 percent. Madhuri Shankar, Mumtaz Mallar, Ashley Alex and Arnal scored 70 percent and above marks. The remaining five students scored 60 percent and above marks.
IISB Principal Nasreen Syed, Chairman Mohammed Ajaz Akhtar and other members of the managing committee congratulated the students and their parents for consistently producing good results.
