Gree air conditioners gain market share in Kingdom

Basic Electronics Co. Ltd. has been awarded with the Certificate of Largest Exclusive Agent for Gree brand products in the world from the manufacturer for the third year respectively.
Qasim Mohammed Alarfaj, general manager of Basic Electronics Co.LTD, said: “We were able to achieve advancement for this product due to its materialization in an advanced position in the Saudi market.”
He added: “By focusing on effective marketing and distinguished service with higher professionalism, our sales over the last 10 years reached about half of a million units of air conditioners in 2011 representing around 25 percent of the local market.”
He said Gree air conditioners have become one of the most famous brands in the Saudi market.
Basic Electronics Co. Ltd. obtained the exclusive rights for Gree air conditioners in 2001 as a new brand of products were launched for the first time in the Saudi market.
“The beginning was very modest, our total sales within the first year did not exceeded 4,000 units, but we devoted our enormous marketing power which had been growing for over half a century and employed the cumulative experience of our administrative staff to stand with all our capabilities and put our support behind this new brand because of our full conviction in the high standards of quality they were providing, as well as the high reputation and fame of Gree factories worldwide,” said Alarfaj.
Alarfaj added: “The company will continue to make efforts to increase the sales of Gree air conditioners in the Saudi market, looking to acquire one third of the market size over the next three years.”
