The fourth week of the 8th Juffali Basketball League witnessed another exciting games at Khurais Road here.
After denying Petromin in the previous encounter, 112-90, Al Hokair went on to secure another win against Coffee Essense 101-87 in the Inter-Company.
The winners started on a sour first quarter, 23-26 but reversed the scenario in their favor at halftime, 50-44. The margin was stretched in the third quarter to as high as 18 points at 74-56 behind the heroics of De Leon and Calma who scored 26 and 25 points respectively.
The team of coach Rizaldy Datu banked on the third canto explosion of 18 points to secure a convincing win. Rojas poured in 24 on the losing side with Calabatan scoring 17 and Manalac 15.
In another game in the Inter-Department, Jamed finally snatched its first win against home court rival Maybach 90-86 in a come-from-behind victory. The losers had the momentum up to the third quarter but lost their shooting power in light of the defensive tactics employed by the winners’ top guns De Villa, Quizon and Fernando who delivered impressive performance in the pivotal last quarter.
KFAD also tasted its first victory, 105- 94 against Saudi Lebanese Tarouk. Cordero (24) and Gocela (20) were the leading scorers for KFAD.
Petromin of coach Norbe Guineta also bagged its first win in two outings from Al Hukaime 76-60. Saudi Ericsson came out strong in a 115-86 triumph over strong rival Pizza Inn.
After four weeks, Hokair leads the team standings in the Inter-Company division at 2-0. Pizza Inn is 2-1 following that heartbreaker vs. Saudi Ericsson, which is 1-0 in a tie KAFD and Panda. Petromin is 1-1, Coffee Essence 1-2 while Saudi Lebanese Tarouk and Al Hukaime are both 0-2 .
In the Inter-Automotive division, JACO remains unbeaten at 3-0 in an achievement that made Shane Lottering, big boss at Benz Cars Division, happy.
United Motors is second at 1-0 followed by Al Jomaih 1-1, Jaguar (Land Rover) and Samaco, which are tied at 0-2.
Saudi Ericsson and Al Wahlan share a 1-0 win-loss record in the Inter-Department division with Jamed and Maybach on 1-1.
