HP plans to focus on innovative technology

At least 1.5 million people are using HP printers and an equal number using different HP devices in the Kingdom. HP’s newly appointed Country Manager for PPS, Laszlo Czinege, stated this at a press conference in Riyadh yesterday.
He added that his administration is targeting 6 million users in the coming years as the number of work force in the country is rapidly growing in the wake of the Kingdom’s economic boom that needs more computers and printers.
Czinege, who is appointed HP’s country manager for the Printing and Personal System (PPS) Group, said there is stiff competition, "but with new restructuring we are closely monitoring the market and moving accordingly."
An important element of this strategy was their focus on innovation in the context of new mindsets. The new trend is to have portable computers that are smaller and slimmer. Even so, laptops will remain customers’ preference for those who write long messages. Mainly those who write short messages will use tablets, he explained.
Speaking on HP’s restructuring, he added that the HP global restructuring is a multi-year productivity initiative designed to simplify business processes, advance innovation and deliver better results for customers, employees and shareholders.
He said HP’s restructuring is expected to generate annualized savings in the range of $3 billion to $3.5 billion expected during the fiscal year 2014, of which the bulk of the amount will be reinvested back into the company. Enabling investment in people, processes and technology will allow HP to accomplish the restructuring effort and to generate savings. HP is launching a new innovative technology and printer program this year.
