HSBC — Euromoney’s ‘Best Equity House in the Middle East’ — has been ranked the Leading Brokerage Firm in the Middle East and North Africa, for the second year running, in the annual Thomson Reuters Extel Survey for the quality of its research and its overall sales and trading capability.
Extel Survey Award winners are judged to be "best in class" in command of their industry, analytical rigor, and dedication to client service. Run by Thomson Reuters, the Extel Awards are highly coveted within the investment community as they represent the unequivocal, independent endorsement of each winner's audience and customers.
Raj Sinha, head of equity research MENA, HSBC said: “We are very grateful to all of the institutions who took the time to vote in this important survey. Not only did we do well as a team, but when you look at the individual awards, three of our MENA based analysts came in the top 5, which is a fantastic achievement. These awards demonstrate that our clients appreciate the breadth and the depth of the regional research we provide. Given the region’s recent turbulence we know that clients, now more than ever, need high quality and timely research on companies and key industries. And, with dedicated research teams throughout the region HSBC’s MENA team can provide a truly informed view.”
These awards follow the recent Euromoney Awards for Excellence, where HSBC picked up seven awards – more than any other bank.
Osman Raie, head of equities for MENA, HSBC added: “These awards are incredibly significant as they are directly voted for by our clients. The awards we’ve won over the last few weeks really show the breadth of our regional business. We received awards for our ability to help clients with their specific financial needs as well as their day to day financing. What this new award mean is that we can also provide our clients with award winning research direct from the ground. So, whether our clients are looking for market insights, to trade or raise finance – we’re the award winning bank to help them.”
