This is in response to the column “Impact of expat levy on Saudi economy.” It is a very well written article. Although I am an expatriate, I would like to see the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia prospering and progressing rapidly. I have worked and earned my livelihood in this country.
However, I see some kind of prejudice among a few Saudis that makes them blame expatriates for many things. They somehow think that evicting the expatriates can only create jobs for nationals. The government can always take a decision to send all expats back. But this is not possible because the expatriates are here because they are needed. — Dr. Shabbir M. Thingna, Bisha, KSA
