More than 120 exhibitors from 25 countries showcased more than 10,000 designed products at INDEX KSA furniture, interior designs and décor exhibition.
INDEX KSA is the region’s largest interior and design exhibition. It was held from May 29 – 31, at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events with the cooperation of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The exhibitors presented an impressive lineup of international manufacturers and brands with their latest products, trends and innovations. A unique collection of international industry leaders, such as Al-Mutlaq Furniture, Amber Gallery, Collection Alexandra, Dieffebi, Epoca, Fayek Furniture, Fine Art Lamps, Meuble El Chark, Roca, and Terzani were presented with their collections.
The visitors could choose what they wanted for their living rooms and other parts of the house according to their life style and tastes.
Fady Saliba produces traditional home ware from Lebanon with a modern touch.
“We make huge chandeliers, lamp shades, table lamps, tables with mother-of-pearl,” said Saliba.
The Spanish company Virtus showcased handmade crystal with Moreno glass in colorful flower decorations and elegant, traditionally styled clocks, made of bronze that attracted the attention of many visitors.
Smith of Derby brought wall clocks to the exhibition.
“We design clocks for outdoor or indoor use. Nobody should have to worry about their clock if temperatures rise to even 50 degrees Celsius. Our clock can take it. We use a wide range of materials, from stainless steel to gold, from glass to crystal. We connect our clocks with the Internet, so we can check from London if the clock is working properly,” explained Kevin Litchfield, head of design of Smith of Derby.
The Saudi economy is booming at the moment and the country has opened its doors to everyone. Jaffar Shubber, project manager at Dmg World Media, the organizer of the exhibition, said that the INDEX design exhibition had been running in Dubai for 22 years before coming to Jeddah. The decision to start an exhibition in Jeddah came after seeing the sustainable growth of the economy and the increase in housing and hotel projects in the Kingdom.
“Saudi Arabia is growing economically at quite a fast rate while other countries have been slumping and going into recession. The number of young Saudis is on the rise and the government is spending a lot of money on hotels and commercial projects in Makkah and Madinah,” he explained. “The investors are very keen to enter the Saudi market,” he added.
Visitors responded positively to the exhibition. They liked buying products for their houses and for massive projects for hotels and interior designing projects.
