The recently concluded Al Abeer India Festival 2013, a six-day cultural extravaganza, was a big success. This event shall be remembered for long because of the extraordinary performances by students of various Indian schools.
I would like to thank India Forum and Al Abeer Group for having done a commendable job. I would also like to mention that without the active support of the Indian Consulate, Jeddah, particularly Indian Consul General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, the event would not have been such a big success.
The main idea of organizing the event was to provide aid to the poor Indians who are in prison for various reasons. This noble initiative of Indian consul general will surely win many hearts back in India as the families of the beneficiaries will be more than happy to receive their near ones back home. — Mohammed Abbas Khan, Jeddah
