A nine-member delegation from the Indian Spice Board, an Indian government-sponsored specialized agency dealing in spices, is visiting Jeddah for an exclusive buyer-seller meeting (BSM).
The talks will take place at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry on June 5, from 10.30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The main thrust of the BSM will be cardamom, which claims to have some unique attributes.
The Consulate General of India has invited Saudi spice importers and dealers to participate in the BSM.
The delegation's visit follows India's recent two-day catalogue show hosted by the JCCI in which JCCI Secretary General Adnan Mandoura urged Indian businessmen to set up joint venture plants in the Kingdom.
Shakeel Ahmad, consul (commercial) at the Consulate General of India, reviewed the catalogues of companies representing different sectors including textiles, readymade garments, leather products, food items, electrical and electronic accessories, packaging industry, machinery and equipments, computer software and hardware, stationery, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, medical equipments, agriculture machinery, household appliances, handicrafts, gift items, construction, and tourism.
