As expected, the highly favored Itqan Aces team was crowned champion last Sunday in the Unified Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (UFTBR)-Thales Sunday Bowling League.
In the final matches held at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC), the Aces were relentless and totally overpowered erstwhile second placer Itqan Storm 20-6 to secure the top spot.
Neneng Batumbakal benefitted from the poor games of Storm after it won over Bandar Strikers 20-13 and notched the second spot. Complete results in the team competition: Aces champion, Batumbakal 1st runner-up, Storm 2nd runner-up, Bandar Strikers 3rd runner-up, Habagat 4th runner-up, Thales 5th runner-up, Itqan Tenpin Wizards 6th runner-up, Itqan Strikers 7th runner-up, Unica Aldrei 8th runner-up, Saudi Oger Mixed Nuts 9th runner-up, Bowleros 10th unner-up, Philippine Embassy 11th runner-Up, SACO Bolts 12th runner-up and Alwan Micronizers 13th runner-up.
Ronald Bautista of Batumbakal topped the men’s MVP race with an average of 217.29 while Lulu Quejada took the aldies MVP award with an average of 183.56.
Rico Feria of the Philippine Embassy team won the Games of the Elite Group 1, followed by Bautista and Arnold Quindara. In the Group 2 Elite Games, Rodel Maranca also of Batumbakal took the first position followed by Quejada and Cheng Herosa at second and third respectively. The Most Improved Players award went to Dennis Durens of Habagat and RB Borre of Thales.
The league was sponsored by Thales Security Solutions & Services Co., Saudi Arabia. The team of Thales was represented by its employee-team captain Nelson De Vera.
Awarding ceremonies will be held very soon with the next conference of the same league to follow right away. UFTBR through its chairman Ernee Noto and the league organizing committee led by Jim Dela Rosa with members Armin Isles, Cesar De Mesa, Durens, Pau Feria, Ian Choco and Bong Solomon would like to thank all the team participants and supporters and Thales for the successful conclusion of the league.
