The Family Products Building Center (JANA) is a social and economic program that gives loans without sponsors to private businesses owned by Saudi women throughout the Kingdom to create more jobs for them.
Mohammad Al-Khamis, chairperson of JANA’s parent body Tanmiah, attended a meeting in Alkhobar recently. He said: “We are trying to create more jobs for women through these private businesses to reduce poverty and unemployment and to empower women socially and economically.”
Al-Khamis said JANA is considered one of the social programs for Suleiman Al-Rajhi charity organization, which helps to support and provide loans to these small businesses run by women. “These projects could support women, help nationalize jobs and create different jobs,” he said.
“The program is one of the social programs the organization provides to the society under the support of Suleiman Al-Rajhi,” said Al-Khamis. “We are planning to expand our program to cover all the regions in the Kingdom and to make this program a success,” he said.
According to Executive Manager Muhammad Al-Shami, the program has so far created 12,369 jobs for Saudi women in six different cities in the Kingdom.
Al-Shami said the program aimed to provide 9,500 private business jobs for Saudi women and make them familiar with production tools. According to him, JANA currently employs 78 employees, of whom 75 percent are women. The percentage of Saudization is 95 percent and production efficiency of the employees’ performance 104 percent. “This has encouraged businessmen to enter into partnerships with the JANA,” said Al-Shami.
Some of the cities that are benefiting from the program are Dammam, Alkhobar, Hasa, Qassim, Hail and Jazan. “We aim to reach all cities in the Kingdom,” he said.
