It is good that the Saudi government has taken up the matter of women’s jobs in the Kingdom. But I would like to draw people’s attention to the issue of women’s role in society. Firstly, a woman’s primary role is to look after her family. We have seen many families failing to pay attention to their children.
These families are not able to properly train the children.
How can we neglect our religious and moral duty as mothers in this regard? There is absolutely no problem with women taking up jobs if they feel they can play their part in raising their children and making them good citizens.
Secondly, if jobs are given to women, then what will men do? How would they be able to get jobs? As a matter of fact in our society men are the primary breadwinners of the family, if women start eyeing jobs in the malls or anywhere, then the male members of the family would be left unemployed.
