Johnson’s buzzer-beater in 2nd OT lifts Brooklyn

NEW YORK: As Detroit kept coming back, Joe Johnson figured the game could come down to a last shot.
It did and he knew it was in as soon as it left his hands.
Johnson made a jumper from just inside the arc as time expired in the second overtime, giving the Brooklyn Nets a 107-105 win over the Pistons on Friday night.
Johnson finished with 28 points for the Nets, scoring their final five in the second extra period. He faded backward after launching the jumper over Tayshaun Prince, giving the team its first buzzer-beating victory since February 2009.
“The coaches and, like I say, my teammates have the confidence in putting the ball in my hands down the stretch, then I have to come up big for us,” Johnson said.
Brooklyn blew a 17-point lead and missed its first six shots in the second OT.
Thunder 113, Kings 103: In Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant scored 31 points, Serge Ibaka added 18 points and 11 rebounds and the Thunder won their 10th straight. It’s the franchise’s longest winning streak since November 1996, when it won 11 in a row as Seattle.
Durant paid tribute to the victims of Friday’s school shooting by writing “Newtown, CT” on one shoe.
Rockets 101, Celtics 89: In Houston, James Harden scored 21 points and Greg Smith added 20 to help the Rockets get the win. Houston used a 9-2 run capped by Harden’s three to go up 52-47 in the third.
Pacers 96, 76ers 85: In Indianapolis, Paul George scored 14 of his 28 points in the third quarter, and George Hill had a triple-double (15 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds) to lead the Pacers. Philadelphia played without guard Jrue Holiday.
Lakers 102, Wizards 96: In Washington, Kobe Bryant scored 30 points, reserve Jodie Meeks added 24 and the Lakers snapped a four-game losing streak. Slowed by foul trouble, Dwight Howard had 12 points and 14 rebounds for L.A. (10-14).
Magic 99, Warriors 85: In Orlando, Florida, J.J. Redick had 16 points and Nikola Vucevic added 12 points and 17 rebounds to help Orlando hold on for the win
Raptors 95, Mavericks 74: In Toronto, Linas Kleiza scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as Toronto snapped a six-game losing streak. Dallas went 0 for 13 from three-point range, coming up empty for the first time since February 1999. Its stretch of 1,108 games had been the longest active streak in the NBA.
Timberwolves 113, Hornets 102: In New Orleans, Nikola Pekovic scored a season-high 31 points, Andrei Kirilenko had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Minnesota won its third straight game.
Minnesota said guard Ricky Rubio worked out Friday and is close to returning from a knee injury that has sidelined him since March.

Bucks 90, Cavaliers 86: In Cleveland, Monta Ellis scored a season-high 33 points as the Bucks won their fourth straight.
Nuggets 99, Grizzlies 94: In Denver, former UA Wildcat Andre Iguodala had 20 points and seven assists to lead the Nuggets beat Memphis. Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with 21 points.
