On the second day of the comprehensive quality forum in Jeddah, the General Security patrols department signed an agreement with the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JCCI) to launch the Tayseer campaign.
The campaign aims at providing 100 humanitarian services for handicapped people. The campaign targets the least fortunate handicapped people, said Gen. Saleh Al-Wehaibi, director-general of the security patrols department. Mazen Batterjee, deputy chairman of JCCI, said that campaign would also include an advertisement campaign to encourage those targeted to register for services provided by Tayseer. He added that the agreement with the security patrols department allows field visits from both sides to the host parties, and to attract sponsors and supporters. Batterjee said that workshops for the handicapped were going to be held in the next few weeks.
The forum announced on its first day that a new united operation room for receiving crime reports would be launched soon, said Saeed Al-Qahtani, director general of public security.
Al-Qahtani said the project had completed big steps and that the idea of founding a community police force was being studied and standardized by a private consultancy office.
The general honored the forum’s sponsors, including the Saudi Research & Marketing Group. Fawzy Mosly, director of administrative affairs in the Western Region, received the forum’s shield on behalf of SRMG.
Gen. Ali Al-Wehaibi said that developed countries realized the importance of quality and gave it high priority, so much so that they allocated international awards for it. Al-Wehaibi said the awareness of comprehensive quality elements in security departments was the cornerstone of a quality culture.
Abdullah Muharji, undersecretary of King Abdul Aziz University, said educational curricula were, without a doubt, enhancing comprehensive quality.
Saad Al-Qasbi, governor of the Saudi Standards, Quality & Metrology Organization, said that applying the comprehensive quality concept in the area of security would make use of international and local experiences in one of the most important services provided to people — security.
The forum was held at King Abdul Aziz University and ends today.
