The industrial city of Jubail is getting ready for the annual flower and plant festival.
The Royal Commission in Jubail has announced that this will be the 15th such festival that aims at showcasing the beautiful landscape and gardens of Jubail.
The festival will begin on Feb. 20 and will run for 10 days. It will be held at the popular and pristine Al-Fanateer beach.
“Government agencies, universities, agricultural institutions and companies specializing in landscaping, gardening and beautification will take part in the festival,” said Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Meserey, the festival’s general supervisor.
He said the festival aims to create awareness among the people about the importance of plants and gardens in the lives of an individual, environment and society.
“We want to inculcate a sense of belonging in nature among children, adult and all members of society with a view to maintaining hygiene, protecting and safeguarding public properties and promoting tourism,” Al-Meserey said.
In addition to that, the visitors will be informed about the ways and means of keeping the environment clean and they will be made aware of the importance of cooperating with security men and rationalizing electricity and water consumption. They will aslo be shown how to increase the farmland through using the modern ways of irrigation.
“The festival also aims to make the media focus on Jubail Industrial City and give a chance to the talented and gifted to take part and show their talents through different activities,” said Al-Meserey.
