Justice Gafoor passes away

Justice K.A. Abdul Gafoor, a former high court judge in Kerala and an ardent supporter of Indian pluralism and interfaith dialogue, passed away at his residence in Ernakulum yesterday.
He had held several important positions including chairman of the Kerala Sate Farmers’ Debt Relief Commission, vice president of International Interfaith Dialogue India (IIDI), and chairman of PM Foundation.
V.K. Abdul Aziz, a long-time associate and an executive member of IIDI, expressed his deep sorrow over Gafoor’s death and said it is big loss to the Indian society.
“Justice Abdul Gafoor had dedicated his life for the betterment of society and for promoting communal harmony. He had also worked for the educational uplift of Muslims in Kerala,” Aziz said.
