Kashif Shafeeq smashed a magnificent century to steer My Care Hala past the huge target set by APF, Shoaib Ali bamboozled IDB batting lineup with 5 wickets to help Dopco Stars win a low scoring match, Usman Gems at last tasted victory against Zultec and Crown Steel defeated AOT GFC to reach the last four.
Zeeshan Soherwardy blasted 113 runs in Al Saudi XI’s win against Mercedes Benz while Rifaqat of ALJ smashed unbeaten 94 to post huge 212 against QRCC in the WPCA Morning Summer Tournament.
Usman Gems batting first against Zultec saw Moazzam Shoukat smash 70 runs with 8 fours and 4 sixes as Hashim Khan scored 33 and they stitched together 98 in 51 balls while Imran Azam later made unbeaten 21 to get to 189 for 8. Yusuf had 2-29, Akram 2-31, Afaq 2-37 as a scalp each to Samer and Khalid Iqbal. Zultec chasing fell short by 14 runs to be bowled out for 165 after Gems bowlers reduced them to 42 for 5 as Kashan and Amer Sajjad had identical figures of 3-34 while Mohammed Amjad and Hashim Khan grabbed 2-30 each with only Bilal Khan contributing 46 and Afaq 34.
Islamic Development Bank (IDB) batted first and bundled out for 126 after they were comfortably placed at 105 for 4 as Shoaib Ali ran through the lineup to take 5 wickets for 13 runs in 4 overs and a wicket each to Ajmal Khan, Shahbaz and Khurram with only Ashfaq resisting with 56 off 30 balls and Abdul Jabbar 16. Dopco Stars began the chase with early losses but Maqsood kept his cool to hit 35 and Khurram compiled 29 to get to the target of 129 for 8 in 98 balls to win by 2 wickets. Ashfaq exhibiting his all round performance bowled his heart out to take 4 for 20 and Abdullah Shah had 3-27 while Ijaz took one.
Asian Plastic Factory batted first with both openers in good touch as skipper Nadeem hit 45, Imran Ghani 27 and down the order Wajahat hit 51 in just 20 balls to get to huge 211 for 7. Azeem grabbed 2-20, Waqas Ausaf 2-28 and Hussain Bhatti 2-45.
My Care & Hala in reply lost two early wickets but Kashif Shafeeq solid as ever partnered dependable Waqas Ausaf to steer My Care Hala ship not only to safety but to victory podium as well by adding 170 runs for the third wicket in 97 balls as Waqas made 63 and Kashif remained unbeaten on 108 off 58 balls to get to the target of 212 for 4.
Batting first, Al Saudi XI lost two early wickets with 10 for 2 when Zeeshan was joined by Naveed and both of them took the tally to 117 when Naveed returned for a well played 39 but Zeeshan continued with Nazeer Farooqui to get to mammoth 212 for 7 in 18 overs. Zeeshan returned with muscle cramps and dehydration after scoring 113 in 46 balls with the help of 10 huge sixes and 6 fours as Nazeer contributed 28. Mercedes Benz was just spectator to this Zeeshan batting as Zulfiqar scalped 3-39. Mercedes Benz replied with 170 to lose by 42 runs.
ALJ Toyota batted first against QRCC but lost Tanveer early. Rifaqat was joined by Imran and both of them played strokes at will to add together 112 runs for the second wicket when Imran departed for well made 69. Rifaqat continued his onslaught along with Zahid to take the tally to 212 when Rifaqat unfortunately was stranded at 94 off 49 balls.
ALJ Toyoto tallied 212 for 3 in 18 overs. QRCC lost wickets at frequent intervals to be restricted to 181 for 7 and lost by 31 runs.
