KFH, Dunes triumph in Siglakas Unity Cup

KFH team of Ruben Sangcap and Rey Dalida rolled to its fourth victory in five games while host team Dunes of Nilo Bragado kept pace on 3-1 in the Siglakas International Riyadh South District Unity Cup Basketball Tournament 2012 at the Dunes Compound Filipino Community basketball court in Olaya Thalateen area here.
Marlon Adriano delivered the first basket and KFH took Industrial team of Joel Crisostomo 71-61.
From a 12-12 deadlock at the end of the first quarter KFH featuring the combo of Adriano, Johnson Sangcap, Jay Lobo, Joseph Repollo and Hector Laurequez pulled away by 21 points, 43-22, and was still up by 14 points, 59-45, over the next two quarters.
The trio of Jayson Canares, Jolan Benavidez and Danilo Medina supported by playing coach Crisostomo led Industrial team in vain.
Game hero Ronnie Dizon broke the ice in Dunes’ hairline 78-77 win over Dumez Kings.
The teams swapped the lead during the second and third periods. Despite being undermanned Dumez, which dressed only 5 players for the game, held the lead at the end of the the second and third quarters at 46-43 and 63-60.
With 11 seconds left and the score tied at 77 , Dizon split his charities. Edmond Icban, who was in high spirits, and the much needed assists of Mark Pelagio, Christopher Cabigting and playing coach Nilo Bragado opened the door to Dunes’ victory.
Khazzan won by default over Senayah even its card at 2-2 in the team standings.

Dunes Compound Filipino Community through Rex Badida and Ben Samson Duhaylungsod also support the tournament.
