By order of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah, Saudi Arabia is continuing its campaign to provide assistance to Syrian refugees.
The program to assist Syrian refugees is under the direct supervision of Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif.
“More than 4,800 blankets were distributed to 1,200 refugee families currently in several towns in Lebanon’s Baka region. The towns include Al-Suwaira, Majdal Anjar, Al-Manara and Al-Mansoura.
“It is the second time relief has been distributed in these towns. During the first phase of the campaign, food baskets and health kits were distributed here,” he said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency yesterday.
During the first phase, relief materials were supplied to refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. The campaign also searched for refugees in the region.
The number of refugees is reported to be increasing as the war in Syria drags on. The condition of the refugees is likely to become more dire as winter brings a sharp fall temperatures.
