A leading minister in the Georgian government emphasized the importance of developing relations with the Kingdom and expanding horizons to serve bilateral interests, especially in the economic, trade and tourism fields.
Georgian Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ramaz Nicolishvila met with a Shoura Council delegation at his Tbilisi office and told them his country is making an effort to develop its relations with Saudi Arabia, praising the country as a voice of truth and its central role for market stability in world oil markets.
The council’s Saudi-Georgian Parliamentary Friendship Committee is chaired by Abdullah bin Zamil Al-Derais and members include Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Mulays, Saleh bin Mohammed Al Shoaibi, Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Heijan and Muhammad bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki.
Nicolishvila reviewed the efforts of his country's development in various fields, especially the numerous infrastructure projects.
He claimed the Georgian government gave the opportunity to foreign investors especially Saudi businessmen to participate in the implementation of these projects, especially as the country has implemented reforms and adopted regulations to attract foreign investments.
A World Bank report praised Georgia for creating an attractive investment climate and reducing bureaucracy.
Al-Derais thanked the minister for hosting the delegation, praising his hospitality.
He provided an overview of the Shoura Council and its mechanisms including special committees and parliamentary relations with its counterparts around the world, including the Georgian Parliament.
