Labor Ministry enforces decision to feminize perfume shops

The Saudi Labor Ministry started Saturday implementing its decision to ensure all perfume and make-up shops all over the Kingdom were women-only.
The ministry has deployed 400 inspectors to enforce the decision.
The ministry is aiming to provide more job opportunities for Saudi women.
The ministry’s deadline for shops to start employing women ended a year ago.
The decision to make perfume and accessories shops women-only followed a similar decision that affected lingerie shops.
The ministry expected these decisions to provide enough job opportunities for Saudi women.
It warned violating shops that they would be subject to various punitive measures including fines, a ban on recruiting foreign manpower and even closure.
The ministry asked all women workers to cover up properly when working in the shops.
