The Sri Lankan Expatriates’ Society Jeddah (SLESJ) held its Members Day Program at The Blue Beach Restaurant in Jeddah.
The chief guest was Adambawa Uthumalebbe, consul general of Sri Lanka in Jeddah. Majazia Mubarak, the principal of Sri Lankan International School Jeddah and Hamid Rafeek, the president of SLESJ, were also present, as well as past presidents of SLESJ, consulate attaches and distinguished members of the Sri Lankan community.
The event featured games for all age groups, live music, a Sri Lankan buffet dinner and a free boat ride to all and was attended by around 250 guests.
Rafeek held a speech and said, “The members of the SLESJ are the heart of our society, without your support we cannot run as a society. Your spirit of good thoughts helps us move forward and blossom together as SLESJ.”
Uthumalebbe said the community should not be divided and must work together. He mentioned that it was a well-organized event and all the credit should go to the president and board members of SLESJ.
