A number of articles describing the situation in Pakistan have been written recently. These were true thoughts and opinions expressed by common people.
These outbursts are not the result of any conspiracy by the Indian intelligence agency or Jews as we normally see their involvement in everything.
The element of conspiracy does not exist. The writing is on the wall — Pakistan despite helping the US in its fight against terror still needs to demonstrate its credibility and do more.
The muted reception given by President Obama to President Asif Zardari during the recently held NATO conference in Chicago was yet another sign of bad relationship between the two countries.
Throughout the years until Osama Bin Laden's killing, Pakistan had a reputation of being at the forefront of fighting terror.
Post-Bin Laden, the situation has changed. Now Pakistan is not seen as a victim but a country exporting terror and harboring terrorists. We have reached a point, where the Pakistani leadership has to act. People involved in protecting Bin Laden and promoting terrorism should be apprehended. This could set the ball rolling, which finally could lead the US to apologize for the killing of Pakistani troops at Salalah checkpoint.
It's time the Pakistani leadership rectifies the mistakes of the past. That will be in the interest of the country. (Bhaskara Sujeet Kumar, Riyadh)
SRK has not learned a lesson
It seems that Shah Rukh Khan did not learn any lesson from the recent Wankhede stadium incident in Mumbai. Though he had been banned from entering the Wankhede stadium for five years, he again lost control and went berserk at Pune stadium. There are reports that Shah Rukh showed his shoe to the crowd after a cricket match in Pune recently. It seemed as if he wanted to hurl his shoe at somebody in the crowd.
Shah Rukh, often called "King Khan" by his supporters has once again proved he is in fact a king of controversies. His cheap reaction disappointed many cricket fans and people present at the stadium.
Too much popularity and unnecessary importance in addition to the plenty of wealth has actually made him crazy and out of control.
Shah Rukh should not act in such a way, this is obviously against our culture and tradition. These ugly incidents should at least open the eyes of his fans who praise and support him, particularly of those who wish him a brilliant career. (Zakaria Sultan, Riyadh)
Accident-hit Filipino worker
This refers to the story of Filipino worker Alfredo Salmos who survived a severe electrocution accident and whose plight elicited widespread sympathy among his compatriots worldwide. Had it not been for the support of his compatriots he would not have been able to go back to his home country. My sincere thanks to all those who had helped Alfredo Salmos in alleviating his miseries.
But, I was disappointed to read that the Police Department in the Kingdom took a long time in processing paper work. Some sympathy should have been shown to the man who suffered so such due to electrocution. Our religion teaches us to have mercy on hapless people for which we will be richly rewarded by Allah.
