LuLu Hypermarket, Saudi Arabia has launched "Melonic," a melon promotion that will continue until Tuesday (May 22) at its major hypermarkets in Riyadh and Alkhobar. Watermelon is an interesting commodity among the many choices consumers make when making food-buying
decisions.
The festival exhibits more than 44 varieties of popular and delicious Melons from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Australia, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Iran and the United States. Display of quality melons produced from local farms will be a major attraction of this promotion. Special varieties and colors of melons, watermelon, sweet melon, rock melon, honey dew melon, pepino melon, cantaloupe, organic melon, etc., have been introduced at its hypermarkets during this promotional period.
"One of the biggest melons, (average weight of 15 Kg/pc) and the smallest melon (average weight of 300 gm/pc) are on exhibition and sale during the promotion. Saudi Arabia is one of the biggest producer and exporter of water melons and this promotion definitely will be a boost to local farmers for producing high quality melons to serve the local and other markets as well, said Rizwin Razak, buying manager, fruits and vegetable, LuLu Hypermarket, Saudi Arabia.
"We hope that during the summer season, demand for melons will be high. As per medical reports, nutritious value of melons are sufficient to protect good health in the summer season," according to Bashar Nazer Al-Basher, head of general administration, LuLu Hypermarket, Saudi Arabia.
