Ronnie Maninang canned in 32 big points for Yamama while TJ Ferrer of Wardeh finished with 26 points to strengthen their teams’ bid for spots in the next round in the eighth week of action in the Siglakas International Riyadh South District Unity Cup Basketball Tournament 2012 at the Dunes Compound Filipino Community basketball court in Olaya Thalateen area here.
Yamama and Farazdaq both played solid from the get-go in the game that ended 72-71 to Yamama.
The win boosted Yamama to second place in the standings at 3-1.
The scores in each of the first three periods were tied and the third quarter ended 46-all.
Maninang enjoyed one of his finest performances in his basketball career with that 32 points. Rolly Talaban, Dennis Enriquez, Sherwin Santos and Roy Clorion supported Maninang.
Wardeh scored an easy 75-43 win over Artec of coach Jonathan Nevado.
Coach Arson Pamintuan paraded the strong Wardeh trio of TJ Ferrer, Zaldy Caranto and Allan Lauron supported by Zamuel Tababa and Michael Domingo.
Roma won by default over Al Kharj team.
