JEDDAH: Al Mazroi XI defeated ALJ Toyota and Hala Academy White downed AAA to qualify for the final of the WPCA morning tournament.
Dopco Stars, My Care Hala and APF won their respective encounters in the WPCA Summer Premier tournament. QRCC and Johnson control emerged winner in the summer morning.
In the first semifinal, ALJ-Toyota batted first. Tanveer made15 ,Adil 13, Basheer 15 and Zahid 32.
ALJ was comparatively well placed at 51 for 2 but lost wickets in a heap with both Naeemullah Khan and Nazeer returning back without scoring to be reeling at 60 for 5 from where they could not recover while Mudassir who top-scored with 39 and Shiraz (9) stroked 76 runs in the last 10 overs to get 140 in the allotted 20 overs. Laiq Gondhlekar took 3-16, Faisal 2-33 and one wicketr each to Khalil Dawre and Faizan.
Al Mazroi XI in reply was home in 74 balls to achieve 141 for 1 through Sufiyan Laheri who remained unbeaten on 55 in 32 balls studded with 5 fours as Kifayat made 39 and Faisal remained unbeaten on 20 to book a place in the final. The wicket to fall went to Mudassir.
In the second semifinal, Arabian Auto Agency (AAA) batted first and lost Abdul Rauf early followed by the prized wickete of skipper Naveed (29). Ashraf who made 41 and Tahir who stroked 29 balls took the tally to 99 when Ashraf and the new batsman Abdul Rehman both returned back in quick succession to make 99 for 4. Nayeem made 19. Soon after AAA was again stunned with two quick blows to make 113 for 6.
Afsar and the tail took the tally to 153. Saqlain took 4 wickets for 21, Furkan 2-28 and a wicket each to Adil and Janzeb.
Hala Academy White chasing saw Furkan make 36 studded with 7 fours, Janzeb 33 and together they added 76 for the first wicket. After this long partnership AAA snatched 4 wickets in quick time to make 104 for 4 to put Whites on the back foot but evergreen Abdulmoeed took the controls to compile unbeaten 36 in 26 balls to get to the winning target of 154 in 107 balls and book a place in the final against Al Mazroi XI. Fahad took 2-30 and Ahmed 2-37.
Summer Premier: Usman Gems batted first to produce 135 all out through Amir Sajjad 46 with 3 sixes and 2 fours, Amjad 20, Moazzam 25, Asif 20. Kashif Shafeeq scalped 3-10, Rehan 2-27, Waqas 2-34 and a wicket each to Umar and Waheed. My Care & Hala responded with 136 for 2 in 86 balls through Kashif Shafeeq making unbeaten 69 in 41 balls with a six and 8 fours. Khurram Karamat 37 as Qazzafi made 21. The wickets to fall went to Hashim Khan and Imran.
Dopco Stars batted first to blast 236 for 4 in 20 overs as Usman who made 74 in 40 balls studded with 6 sixes and 4 fours and Khurram who remained unbeaten on 65 off 36 balls with 7 fours and a six as together they stitched 102 runs for the third wicket in 53 balls while Shahbaz hammered 43 in just 17 balls to get to mammoth 236.
Crown Steel in reply lost Shafeeq early but Hammad Saeed made 45 and Abid Naseem stroked 60 in 41 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes to take the tally past 100, but two quick wickets reduced Steelmen to 105 for 3. Later Abu Huraira plundered 59 runs in just 27 balls through 5 huge sixes and 4 fours but fell short by 14 runs to be defeated.
Morning Summer: QRCC defeated Orbital Horizon after scoring 130 for 9 through Zahid who made 46 in 32 balls and Amir 31 in the first Summer encounter. Arshad took 2-45, Shahid 2-26, Tariq Butt 2-7 and Abdulwahab 2-20. Johnson Control emerged victorious by 4 wickets against Otex by getting to the wining target of 129 for 6 through Sabahat 31, Khubaba38 and Ali 28, as Naeem scalped 3-27 and Ijaz 2-4.
