The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) spending most of the session above the breakeven line edged higher yesterday at 6,896.1, up 13.98 points or 0.20 percent from previous level. However, its trading range narrowed to 33 points as compared to 53 points of previous day.
All market cap indices continued to play well for the second straight day, closing the day upward.
Most of the major sectors closed in the green territory, accumulating an aggregate of over 292 points. Only three sectors ended in red, paring 40 points collectively.
Media and Publishing sector bucked the 4-day downward trend yesterday and turned green with impressive gains, achieving 1.77 percent growth to close at 2,841.95. Industrial Investment and Retail sectors followed it, advancing more than one percent for the day.
The market breadth was exactly balanced with 65 issues witnessing advances against 65 issues recording declines.
Saudi Arabia Fertilizers Co. (SAFCO) outperformed among large market cap companies, reflecting an increment of SR 2.75 or 1.47 percent to close the day at SR 188.75.
Insurance stocks continued to dominate the market performance, filling the top gainer and loser charts consecutively. Al-Sagr Company for Cooperative Insurance and Walaa Insurance came out as key gainers among all Saudi stocks, marching higher by 9.7 percent and 8.6 percent respectively.
Al-Sagr-Insurance has also been able to occupy the place at volume chart, liquidating more than 6.1 million shares, and ranking fifth.
