Merci beaucoup, France

Merci beaucoup, France

I read Abdulateef Al-Mulhim’s article “Mali intervention: No mercy for France” (Feb. 16) with great interest. The destruction the terrorists carried out of all historic places in Timbuktu was a crying shame. Now killing has become a pastime for all terror groups. We see the same madness going on, unfortunately, in Pakistan too, killing their own nationals, for reason only known to the warp-minded brutal terrorists.

Even those innocent people who do their shopping in a vegetable market or praying in a place of worship are not spared. The very recent killing of 63 innocent people in Quetta is an absolute madness. It is to stop the same madness in Mali and other African countries that France sent troops to Mali.

I have my pleasure in joining Al-Mulhim in saying merci beaucoup (i.e. thank you very much) to France for its selfless effort. - S.H. Moulana, Riyadh
