Winners of the M.F. Hussain Painting Competition organized by Chennamangallur Islahiya Association Alumni were awarded fabulous prizes during a ceremony at Shifa Jeddah Polyclinic auditorium in Jeddah recently.
First-prize winners in the four-category competition Ajmal Mohammed, Hana Fathima, Suraiya Abu Kunnathadathil and Jithin Suresh received gold coins.
The competition for children in kids, sub-junior, junior and senior categories was held at Buds & Blossom International School on May 4, drawing a large number of students. The prize distribution ceremony was officiated by P.A. Abdul Rahman, managing director of Shifa Jeddah Polyclinic.
He emphasized the importance of conducting such programs to bring out the hidden talents and creativity of children.
Children who won the contest were from various international schools in Jeddah.
The second and third place winners were given trophies and certificates.
Abdul Shukoor Ali of Thanima, P.T. Mohammed of Jeddah Keralites Forum, K.M. Shareef Kunchu of OICC, V.M. Ibrahim of Gulf Madhyamam, V.K. Rauf of Navodaya, and P.P. Raheem and P.M. Mayin Kutty of Malayalam News delivered congratulations speeches.
Jeddah’s well-known singers Mirza Shareef, Masood Thangal, Abdul Kareem and Mansoor Edavanna entertained the audience, presenting a number of hits as well as popular ghazals of Mehdi Hassan, who passed away recently.
Alumni Jeddah Chapter President Ibrahim Chemnad presided over the function.
K.A. Arif welcomed the audience while V.K. Shameem gave a vote of thanks.
