More than three million students, both boys and girls, in 13,306 public and private intermediate and secondary schools all over the Kingdom will sit for the final year-end examinations today (Saturday).
There will be no final exams for elementary school students who have already started their summer vacation after their performance was judged by the "continuous assessment" for the whole year.
According to local daily Al-Watan, some of the elementary school students who did not do well in some skills will be asked to come again for assessment next week.
Teachers in every school will supervise the examinations. Each student will find his/her number on the desk.
According to the daily, about 2,000 schools in the Eastern Province have completed their arrangements to receive about half a million students for their second semester exams.
Director of the department of education in the province Abdul Rahman Al-Midairis said maintenance teams were doing their work to make sure that all examination halls were ready for the occasion and all air-conditioners were functioning properly.
Director of the province's traffic Col. Abdul Rahman Al-Shanbari said consummate traffic plans were made to ensure that students smoothly arrive at their schools. He said 86 officers and 1,885 privates will organize traffic in the morning near schools.
In Laith, about 15,000 students will be sitting for the exams. Director of the department of education in the region Muhammad bin Mahdi Al-Harithy said all preparations were made for the event.
He said bottles of water would be distributed daily among the students.
Director of examinations at the department Abdullah Al-Kinani asked all school principals to put the results in the central system "Nur" on the Internet so that students and their parents can easily browse them.
In the Rijal Almaa region, about 13,000 male and female students will be taking the exams. Director of the department of education in the region Ali Al-Qatmah asked all school principals not to allow students to go out between one exam and the other until all examinations are over.
In Riyadh, the department of education has established 48 health posts to provide health care to students and teachers during the examination days.
