Best Player of the game Ancheta hit a big buzzer-beating shot in the last three seconds to cap an 18-point performance as Mitwalli Steel survived BRC 67-65 in a cardiac game in the 2012 Perfetto Basketball Tournament organized by Industrial Sports Association (ISA) at Industrial City Dawa Office (ICDO) court in Industrial City Phase I on the outskirts of Jeddah.
Before the third quarter ended, Torres and Bravo had BRC leading by 10 points, but in the fourth period, Margaja and Pableo of Mitwalli matched the intensity of the BRC team to keep the game close.
BRC was nursing a two-point lead with 23 seconds to play when Mitwalli tied the game at 65-65, time down to three seconds. BRC had a chance to win the game but unfortunately turned the ball over and Ancheta launched a desperation shot that swished the net, sealing the game for Mitwalli.
Jay-r Carbonnel was chosen the best player and had another monster game with 21 points as Gatorade struck again to beat Azkals 89-70. Carbonnel was unstoppable in the shaded area, eluding all his defenders to create good plays and convert his shots while on occasions drawing a foul against the big men of Azkals. He got a support from Destresa who scored 17 points apiece while Bravo and Padilla combined for 37 points for Azkals.
