MODON concludes deals for Qassim projects

Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) recently concluded contracts for projects in Qassim 2nd Industrial City, amounting to SR 68 million for the development work and implementation of the infrastructure of the industrial city.
The cost of the first project is SR 32. 8, which will include the development of the first phase of the Qassim 2nd Industrial City on an area of 1.3 million square meters of the total area of nearly 4.73 million square meters.
The project will be completed during the next year. The project includes development of internal roads, a network of streets that connect the industrial city from inside, with roads of varying widths ranging from 25 meters to 60 meters, pavements and electricity feeder network, street lighting works and road networks.
For the second project, it links the Qassim 2nd. Industrial City with Riyadh-Qassim highway at a total cost of SR 35 million. The length of the road will be 4.075 km and it will be completed over the next 30 months. It is an overhead crossing on Riyadh-Qassim highway, including a double 3-lane traffic in each direction and a 5-meter circle at the center. The works include asphalting, concrete and steel, as well as traffic control equipment and other miscellaneous works.
Acting Director General of the Saudi Industrial Property Authority Saleh Al-Rasheed said the allocation of industrial lands in the Qassim 2nd Industrial City would be undertaken soon, in conjunction with the current development work taking place in the city.
The official added that the total area for investor's requests for establishing new industrial projects amounted to more than 172,000 square meters and their activities are focused on industrial wood products and furniture, paper and its products, printing and publishing, chemical products, plastics, construction materials including ceramics, glass, metal and metal products, machinery and equipment, in addition to other activities.
